About Us...
Building The Foundations For Tomorrow's Workforce.
At Intern Bridge, we look at experiential education as a way to build
foundations for tomorrow's workforce, create a pipeline of highly talented
students for organizations and foster relationships between higher education and
employers. It is our strong belief that all organizations can benefit from an
effectively planned and properly structured internship program, regardless of
the organization size or industry.
We What Do:
Intern Bridge is a staffing and research organization. We conduct research
into student expectations and experiences. We also conduct research with
employers in an effort to learn about their desired outcomes and best practices
for hosting an internship project. Our research projects are backed by
universities and human resources associations. Part of what makes our products
and services unique is that everything we do is based on our proprietary
research. On the staffing and consulting side, we help organizations develop or
improve internship programs to create win-win relationships between the
organization, the university, and the student. Our services include the ability
to help organizations structure programs, perform recruiting and marketing
tasks, select interns and supervisors, determine compensation, conduct
evaluations, deliver orientation programming, provide payroll, and much more.
Our Story:
Intern Bridge was founded in 2006 by a college student realizing a need to
close the gap between students and employer as it relates to internships.
Richard Bottner, a junior at Babson College in Wellesley, MA had been studying
human resources for a year when he received his first human resources
internship. At the time, he was also working as a conference aid for the
regional HR association. In this role, he had the opportunity to attend
conferences and network with HR professionals. In early 2006, Richard attended a
conference where the topic was Strategic Staffing. One of the main ideas
presented was establishing an organization-wide internship program. To his
amazement, few HR professionals in the room knew how to create meaningful
internship programs, and he observed this same disappointing pattern in his own
internship. Surprisingly, many HR professionals who he spoke with recognized the
gap between student expectations and employer reality, but they did not know how
to approach the dilemma. The idea for Intern Bridge was born.
