About The Author

Laura Szadvri has spent the last fourteen years working with college students and their families. A former human resources generalist in the insurance industry with a passion for recruiting, Szadvari moved into a role as a college recruiter for the Los Angeles branch of a national business and strategy consulting firm. After gaining experience within the world of college recruiting, she then moved on to become the College Recruiting Manager for the eastern region of a national information and business consulting firm.

Working as an independent consultant for two start-up technology firms wishing to develop and implement a nationally recognized college recruiting program, Szadvari decided that what she loved more than anything was working directly with college students on college campuses. To this effect, she went back to school to pursue a Masters Degree in Education. Throughout graduate school, she worked at The George Washington University where, amongst other things, she managed the Service Learning internship program for all undergraduate students.

After a brief stint as the Princeton Review's Director of Tutoring for the state of Virginia, Szadvari obtained the position of Associate Director of Internships at The University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA. In addition to managing the internship program on campus, she also assists students with resume and cover letter preparation, interviewing skills, job search strategies, and career counseling.

She has degrees from The University of Pennsylvania and Marymount University and lives outsides of the city with her husband and son.
