The graduating class of 2009 faces challenges that no other graduating class has seen in decades. The job market fell dramatically and at a historically rapid pace, leaving many career services professionals little time to reach the graduating seniors. The comment “if only we had connected with the seniors sooner; no one had any idea what was going to happen between November and February” is prevalent.
Many schools have seen pressure from parents and the administration to step up the efforts of career services going forward, yet allocating small budgets to do so. Career Services professionals are trying to devise ways to reach the class of 2010 earlier in the year as well as imbed themselves with the underclassmen.
Career Treking LLC has conducted a survey of hundreds of college students and parents to determine the effectiveness of career services and what steps can be taken to increase satisfaction and usage. This interactive webinar will share the results of that survey as well as identify steps career services professionals can take to get the students to utilize the resources available to them on campus and get more involved in their career. Participants will take away the results of the survey as well as specific, cost effective steps they can take to address this challenge going forward.
