You are invited to share your experience and expertise with a targeted audience of career services professionals throughout the nation. Intern Bridge is actively seeking proposals to fill the presentation tracks for our Career Services Online Interactive Conference. Your peers will benefit as you provide the opportunity for valuable professional development. You do not need to be registered for the conference to be selected as a presenter.
Suggested Topics
Intern Bridge strives to offer a balanced roster of educational programming by selecting proposals which we feel will best serve the career services audience. Some suggested topics include:
- Advising students with disabilities
- Careers in non-profit, government, and "green" industries
- Building partnerships with employers
- Nurturing relationships with faculty
- Providing an effective student experience on decentralized campuses
- Fundraising career services activities
- Counseling international students
- Creating and strengthening career consortiums
- Integrating technology into career center operations
- Professional development models for the career services professional
- Mentoring and coaching students to career success
- Constructing learning outcomes plans
- Working with "helicopter parents"
- Understanding the millennial generation
- Generating effective content on social networking sites
- Producing a career services blog
- Crafting relationship-building alumni career services
- Designing creative career services programming
- Navigating social networking sites
- Operating on a tight budget
- Collaborating with third party organizations
- Partnering with community organizations
- Learning outcomes and assessments
- And, of course, internship and experiential education related topics!
Please note that the above is a list of suggested topics only. All proposals which seek to provide professional development for career services professionals are welcome.
Presentation Information
Each presentation will be one hour in length, followed by a half hour of questions and open discussion. Presentations must be atleast 50 minutes in length, not including questions. Presentations will be made from the comfort of the presenter's home or office using a standard high-speed internet connection and phone line. (Presenters must have access to a landline telephone - you may not use a cell phone during the presentation.) Presenters will be walked through a technology session prior to the Career Services Conference to ensure full comfort with the easy-to-use webinar software. All presentations will be moderated by Intern Bridge staff.
